Privacy policy

What we keep

• Your account: username, email address, and a sign-in code or password (stored only as a hash). Accounts are made by invitation.
• Your stud's records: horses, pedigrees, breeding seasons, presentations and horse photos that your stud enters. They belong to the stud and are private to the people the stud gives access to, unless the owner chooses to share a presentation or a horse.
• On your phone: your sign-in token in the device keychain, and your language, digits and text size settings.
• Usage: which screens are opened and which actions are taken (for example "horse added"), with your account id, so we can see what works and fix what doesn't. On the website we also record anonymised screen recordings and errors. No advertising, no tracking across other apps or websites, and we never sell data.

Who processes it for us

• Contabo (Germany): our servers and database.
• Amazon Web Services (Frankfurt): horse photos.
• Resend: sends sign-in emails.
• Apparent: our own product analytics. Mixpanel and PostHog: website screen recordings and errors.
• Vercel: serves the website. Apple and Google: deliver the app.

The camera and photos

The app asks for the camera or your photo library only when you add a horse's photo. Only the photo you pick is uploaded.

Delete your account

In the app: More → Delete account. On the web or by email: write to hello@breedbook.net from your account's email and we delete it within 30 days. Deleting an account removes the account, its stud access and its sign-in codes. The stud's horse records stay with the stud; a stud owner can ask us to delete the whole stud.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion at any time: hello@breedbook.net. BreedBook is for adults running a stud and is not meant for children under 13.
